Le programme de perfectionnement en génie Edison est un programme de formation au niveau du recrutement qui se fait en deux ou trois ans et consiste en trois missions par rotation ou plus. - University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering (Embedded Software, Computer, Mechanical or Electrical) from an ABET accredited university;

- GPA greater than or equal to
3.0/
4.0 overall;

- Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing;

- Strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering;

- Demonstrated an analytic approach to problem solving;

- Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms;

Essential Responsibilities: The Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) is the premier technical leadership program at GE, offering those with a passion for engineering the opportunity to grow their leadership skills, business acumen and technical aptitude, while building a career with unlimited potential. Program members lead by doing gaining frontline experience by working on important and challenging projects alongside some of the brightest technical minds in the world.

The EEDP Internship is a direct pipeline into the EEDP Program.

The student’s development will occur through project-based assignments. Under the supervision and mentoring of a senior technical team member, her/his key areas of responsibility will include:

- Helping design software to control LED (Light Emitting Diode) drivers for various signaling, illumination and lighting applications;

- Performing exhaustive testing and debugging of embedded systems to comply with specifications (white box testing, black box testing, reliability, etc.);

- Writing software design documents, test plans and test reports;

- Measuring system response, making corrections as required and drawing final conclusions;

- Gaining thorough understanding of the project, its goals and its impacts on products, costs, suppliers, production workers, etc.;

- Planning for action given time, costs, availability and other constraints;

- Coordinating, overseeing and participating as required with internal and external partners to ensure project completion according to plan;

- Additional responsibilities as required.



Le Programme de perfectionnement en génie Edison (EEDP) est le programme intensif de leadership technique de premier niveau chez GE, offrant aux personnes qui sont passionnées de technologie la possibilité de développer leurs compétences en leadership, le sens des affaires ainsi que l’aptitude technique, tout en construisant leur carrière avec un potentiel illimité. Les membres de ce programme acquièrent une expérience de première ligne en travaillant sur des projets importants et remplies de défis aux côtés de quelques-uns des esprits techniques les plus compétents dans le monde.

Le volet Stagiaire EEDP (Internship) est une canalisation directe vers le programme EEDP.
Le développement de l’étudiant(e) se fera par le biais de mandats de type projet. Sous la supervision et le mentorat d’un membre sénior de l’équipe technique, ses responsabilités principales incluront notamment :

- Assister à la conception de système électronique et informatique autonome pour des applications d’éclairage, d’illumination et de signalisation avec DEL (Diode Électro Luminescente);

- Effectuer des essais logiciel et matériel sur les produits conformément aux normes requises (Tests de validation et étude de fiabilité);

- Effectuer des mesures de temps de réponse et appliquer des ajustements de paramètres en temps réel;

- S’assurer des contraintes non fonctionnelles, comme l’occupation de la mémoire, la consommation d’énergie, etc.

- S’assurer de bien comprendre le projet, ses buts et ses impacts sur les produits, les coûts, les fournisseurs, les travailleurs d’usine, etc.;

- Planifier les actions en respectant les contraintes de temps, coûts, disponibilité, etc.;

- Coordonner, surveiller et participer avec les intervenants internes autant qu’externes pour s’assurer de compléter les actions telles que planifiées;

- Responsabilités additionnelles telles que requises.

Essential Responsibilities: The Position:
As part of the Rotating Machines Services team, you will play a significant role in the growth of the Services business by interacting with customers, understanding their challenges, developing technical solutions for retrofits & upgrades and support commercial team in selling the technical value proposition directly to the customer. Additionally you will also support the field engineering teams with expert engineering support for commissioning and customer issue resolution. The successful candidate will report to the Rotating Machines Services Engineering Leader in the Power Conversion GTE’s Global Services organization.

Nature of work:
The responsible candidate will be part of the Services Engineering team working closely with other Electrical engineers, Mechanical engineers and other CAD designers to execute on OTR projects and support ITO activities to bring orders to the business
The primary responsibilities are as follows:

- Develop retrofit technical solutions, prepare technical presentations and provide technical support to sales and marketing personnel in the pursuit of new business opportunities;

- Deliver detailed mechanical engineering analysis and design on all components required for large, custom rotating equipment. Calculations include stress analysis, torsional analysis, rotor dynamic analysis, thermal analysis, hydrodynamic bearing analysis, etc. This will require using in-house design software, finite element software and hand calculations;

- Deliver engineering study reports based on analyses and calculations using a wide variety of design and analytical tools;

- Deliver clear design instructions to CAD designers or field service personnel, review drawings and BOM for quality and interface with manufacturing shop floor to resolve design and manufacturing issues;

- Provide technical support to CAD, manufacturing, test, field service and product service personnel.
Qualifications/Requirements: Skills:

- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and documentation;

- Knowledge of common manufacturing processes, shop tolerances and industry standards;

- Proficiency with mechanical design tools such as Pro-E, ANSYS, MathCAD, etc, plus Microsoft Windows Office Tools;

- Material Science/ Metallurgy related experience.
Education:
Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering with engineering courses related to Rotating equipment.

- Safely and successfully commission custom projects and extended scope projects from construction to commissioning, including UF/MBR, RO/ED and other technologies as required, primarily in North America. - Upon arrival to site, verify that installation by the customer of GE WATER AND PROCESS TECHNOLOGIES equipment has been done according to our P&ID, Mechanical, and Electrical Drawings. As the Leadership Programs Intern you will be joining an energetic environment as part of the Recruitment Centre of Excellence (COE) team. Nature of work:

- managing candidate and manager communication
- contract administration;

- General support of the Leadership Programs. Activities will include:

- Coordination of the cross-training scheduling
- Assisting with cost allocation

- Act as an ambassador and liaison between the Campus team and its internal & external clients;
